Strength Training Exercise - Lunge

You can perform this exercise by alternating legs (right, left, right etc) or by doing a complete set with each leg. When lowering the weight, your front knee should not extend past your front toes.

Step by step instructions

  1. Hold dumbbells with palms facing in and arms by your side.
  2. Step forward with your first leg until your back knee almost makes contact with the floor.
  3. Using your heel, push up to your starting position.
  4. Repeat for desired reps. If alternating legs, use opposite leg for next rep.
