The hamstrings are the primary muscle group. A secondary muscle group involved in this strength exercise is the glutes.

Your machine may have different instructions. Follow the instructions on the machine you are using.

Step by step instructions

  1. Lie on the machine with knees a few inches below the pad.
  2. Grasp the handles looking forward.
  3. When lifting, keep the hips flat to the pads to allow for the focus muscle group to perform the lifting.
  4. Return legs to just before resting position.
  5. Repeat for desired reps.

Be careful with this one b/c you will be sore if you do too much weight before ramping up
